Community principles

“Laws alone can not secure freedom of expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population.” - Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)

Every single group of people needs such principles, in big groups, they are quite complicated and may also eventually comprise codes of law. We need just a few, to assure a peaceful and productive live-together.

Publication

Basically, every discussion is te be held publicly, or if this is not possible, made public afterwards. Only by this, it's possible to assure, that members and users of this project understand, why some decisions were made. Publication increases the spectra of productive possibiliets. We should keep this in mind. Excluded from this regulations are private informations, which could damage the project at the point of publication (e.g. Security Advisories).

Responsibility

To work at and with this project brings some responsibility with it. Everybody must be aware of this and mustn't abuse or disobey them in a frivolous way. Users trust in the project, and this trust mustn't be breached or handled frivolously.

Respect

Respect towards one another is a principle for productive works, everyone tries to help the project on ones ways. There's no reason to disrespect anyone, just because he has another opinion. We're mature people and have to behave accordingly.

Productivity

Productivity is the most important predicat of this project. The ever lasting will to improve the project and make it advance, should be the impulsion for each one of us. Everyone's got unproductive times, but they can never hinder others from being productive. No one will resent it, if you need holidays or want to make a pause. Still it would be very nice and we kind of abide it being told.

Curiosity

Curiosity is something, that continously pushes us, that continously gets us to find new solutions for problems. There's no one that might know all, couriousity is a motor for learning. We cannot destroy this principle. It is allowed to ask questions on topics you are ccouriurious for, they are even wanted. Still, curiosity must never destract the process of productivity.

Collaboration

Collaboration is the possibility to merge knowledge and abilities to something better and bigger than the sum of all parts added together. OpenSource means collaboration, because only together a software can get to a point, where one alone would have never gotten. Inform others about your works, and inform yourself about the works of others.
